The Turnigy 9XR Website is online!
And yes the price is $49.99
Over the last few months, from time to time, the HobbyKing (cleverly) releases some information or image.
Whenever the interest on 9XR falls in forums (and the like), HobbyKing releases something else … So, the subject has been discussed (a lot) in various forums.
See here and here, for example. This site has been no exception, as indeed can be seen here, here, and here.
This time the “high” is the launch of turnigy9xr.com domain.
The website was active for a few moments and then removed.
It was enough to someone be able to extract a few more photos …
The potential of Marketing outsourcing (us) and social media to prepare the launch of a product. A textbook example. Well done HobbyKing!!
Let’s just hope that the 9xr be as good as expected …
You have paid attention to the hobbyking twitter feed?
(…) First batch of 9XR are complete and awaiting packaging. Now writing manual. (…) I’m working on the QuickStart guide and as soon as its printed and all packed with CE cert they can go on sale.(…) already Pre hacked and easier to hack than the 9x.(…) includes programming port, module and dual trainer port for fpv power.(…)

What does that mean for fans of RC?
It means that the older models just got cheaper …I now I can put one (or more) GoPro Naked aboard brittle parkfliers without risking the family budget. Check prices here
Also the used cameras market became more attractive.
It’s good news. We do not need 4K! Or do we?
HobbyKing released another picture of the new Turnigy 9XR.
Taking advantage of the launch of the Turnigy Transmitter Bag, they included a single image of the Turnigy 9XR in the promotional video of this new product … Well done. It was enough to (re)talk about this launch (again) before it is available…
Marketing at its best … and yes, I’m also waiting for it.
Turnigy will launch a new radio to replace the much-loved 9x.
For now there is not much information available, but … I’m curious.
– The 9XR has a pin-out in the battery compartment for easier custom firmware flashing without needing to open the case.
– It will use the atmega chip and can be flashed with your existing customized software. In fact, it comes standard with a similar ROM to ER9x.
– Back-lit screen
– Has inbuilt and module based antenna system
– Spare parts available
– Improved switch and pot quality
– The 9XR will be $50.00
– We’re working with Frsky on a module for the 9XR
When will be available for pre-order? If I may ask …
I’m taking 50 dollars out of my wallet at this very moment …
